PŘÍBĚH Renomovaný a oceňovaný fotograf Adolf Zika přišel s nástupem digitální fotografie na zvláštní úkaz a to, že digitální fotografie umožnila amatérům všemožných povolání to, co nebylo dříve možné - vytvářet, bez znalosti řemesla, jedinečné fotografie ve stejné technické rovině, jako je produkovali do té doby pouze profesionálové. V amatérech a jejich přístupu je budoucnost fotografie! Díky jejich osobnímu životu, vášním, a často i úspěchu v jiných odvětvích mají jejich fotografie výjimečnou perspektivu a neopakovatelnou originalitu. Jejich pohled a nezatíženost pravidly totiž ukázal zcela nový úhel pohledu na kompozici a práci s barvou.. Adolf Zika spojil amatérské fotografy z celého světa v projektu WeekOfLife a dal jim prostor roky denně trénovat jejich schopnosti na dokumentování jejich běžného života. Z milionů záběrů se pak začaly líhnout skvosty, které sjednotil a uspořádal v celek nesoucí jméno FOTOBANKA WOL. Adolf Zika říká: "Já jako profesionální fotograf jsem byl z logiky věci vždy zatížený honorářem. Byla to moje obživa a to negativně ovlivňuje a svazuje každého profesionála. Nešlo pouze fotit pro radost, jak tomu je u nadšených amatérů, bylo nutné také přinášet výsledky. Amatéři neměli prvotně před sebou žádný honorář a všechny tyto fotky dělali s vášní a láskou, která jim přinášela “honorář” v podobě radosti. Proto jim také věnovali tak obrovské časové i osobní úsilí, že by za to v opačném případě nemohl být žádný profesionál zaplacen! Přijal jsem fakt, že ti nejlepší fotografové na světě nejsou ti, co se fotografií živí, ale ti, co s ní žijí! A to mě osvobodilo a otevřelo oči. Pak už šlo vše samo a já jsem chtěl být jejich hrdým rádcem, přítelem i manažerem! Po sedmi letech příprav vznikla FOTOBANKA WOL!" |
STORY Renowned award-winning photographer Adolf Zika realized since the early days of digital photography that it enabled passionate photo hobbyists of all sorts of professional backgrounds something that was previously impossible: creating visually powerful images at the same technical quality levels as pros, but with a unique perspective based on their personal lifes, passions and often success in other fields of professional life. Approach of non-professional photographers is future of photography. Often unencumbered by static rules of established photography they came up with their own new perspective on composition, color (or black and white) schemes, and saw as personal expression in the art of photography. Adolf Zika brought many of these photographers from around the world together in the WeekOfLife project and gave them the opportunity to practice their skills in documenting their evyday lives. Carefully selecting from many thousands of submitted images we saw the project hatch gems, often rough, then refined diamonds. Over time that has become the substance and base for PHOTOBANK WOL . Adolf Zika has his own thoughts and answers as to why? "As a professional photographer you have to earn the payment you get for delivering your services. In a way that makes you more rational, more efficient and less free. Photography is my profession and livelihood, in it's own that negatively affects every professional. You can’t just ‘play around, you have to deliver. The people who contributed to WeekOfLife didn’t have any vision of a payment clouding their view, all these pictures made with the love you give a passion, when it is only meant to make yourself happy. That's why they put in so much time and heartfelt effort into each shot, no professional could work like that. I understood and accepted the fact that the best photographers in the world are not the ones earning their living with photos. That freed me and opened my eyes. From there on everything happened by itself and I just wanted to become their proud mentor, friend and manager. These past 8 years of preparation is culminating in PHOTOBANK WOL!” |
